We advocate for women’s rights by advocating for inclusive and responsive gender policies and legislation that facilitate women’s participation in decision-making. We step in by working with these institutions to review their policies on sexual harassment. From our engagement with the young women, we realized that most of them do not know whether their institutions have policies addressing GBV or not.
The policies are also lacking in some other institutions, and where they are present, they are an outdated version since it does not capture newer forms of violence like TFGBV. Badili Africa further expands our efforts in creating awareness of policies and reviewing existing ones. This approach ensures that policies are updated and improved to better protect the female students in these learning institutions.
