The Chama Women Profile 2025 documents the stories of eight women’s self-help groups across Nairobi, chamas that began with merry-go-rounds and table banking and grew into powerful forces for community change.
These women did not wait for permission to lead. They organized in the spaces they already occupied, and from those everyday spaces, they transformed their communities.
Badili Africa’s Charge for Change program met them where they were, equipping them with human rights knowledge, advocacy tools, and the confidence to turn lived experience into political action.
