The project aimed to empower groups of Chama women in mainly Mathare and Kayale areas, whose businesses had been significantly impacted by the devastating floods in 2024. As a result, some of them had to close down and relocate to safer areas. The project was able to enhance their skills, knowledge on financial management, business recovery strategies, and digital literacy to enable them to expand their customer base by marketing their products online as well, and offering the needed psychosocial support as they rebuild their businesses. 120 chama women were able to directly benefit from the initiative through the chama groups they belong to in their communities.
