Badili Africa’s has conducted a study in Nairobi County, uncovering the challenges faced by Women Political Mobilizers (WPMs) in informal settlements. These unsung heroes endure various forms of gender-based violence, often overlooked by authorities due to misconceptions about politics being a dirty game. We advocate for change, urging increased women representation in political party hierarchies, rapid support for aspiring women leaders, and skill-building programs for WPMs. This research isn’t just an expose; it’s a call to reshape the narrative, creating a safer and more inclusive political space for the resilient women of Kenya.
