Strengthening Public Accountability and Responsiveness in Universities.
Just as governments should be held to account for meeting their responsibilities, students shouldn’t be let off the hook for theirs. Students also play an important role in holding others to account if they fail to meet their responsibilities.
Badili Africa aims to increase public engagement in accountability issues and ensuring that student leadership is both responsive and transparent. Through civic education on rights, promoting constitutionalism, and adhering to the rule of law, we strive to empower students to hold their leaders accountable.
For instance, our Social Accountability Training equips student with the tools needed to create platforms that foster transparency. The University Public Baraza and Intergenerational Dialogues provide spaces for open dialogue and mentorship, crucial for bridging the gap between students and their leaders.
Further, Badili Africa will develop innovative knowledge management products like AccountaVibe and the VirtualVoiceHub. These tools are designed to enhance awareness and facilitate effective public participation, ensuring that every student has a voice in the governance process.
